Some all-inclusive resorts are designed for specific vacation interests. For example, certain resorts cater to adults, while even more specialized properties accept couples only. Other all-inclusive resorts are geared toward families, with facilities like craft centers, games rooms, and water parks to keep children of all ages entertained. All-inclusive resorts are also very popular locations for destination weddings.

"Mohonk is situated on the lake. For those who would like to have an interesting experience, you can climb to the top of the mountain through the caves. I recommend not doing it alone. "Stayed here with family to celebrate Christmas and despite its large size (I normally go for boutique places) and very old fashioned decor I was pleasantly surprised with the experience. Lots of indoor and outdoor activities for adults and kids so we never missed the fact the rooms didn't have TVs. Christmas programmes to keep everyone informed on what was going on each day. Staff were friendly and polite to us and assisted with any requests without issues. Food was plentiful though the buffet did feel a bit repetitive - the kids buffet was mostly fried chicken and fries. We dined a la carte a few occasions and felt the food quality was generally better. Stunning setting and scenery when you look around outside!...."
